Position: Assistant Professor of English
Hometown: Minneapolis, MN
Can’t travel without: I don’t need anything to travel
I have been a professor at Concordia for eight years now, teaching Literary Criticism and Theory, Postcolonial Literature, Modern Novel, and Film as Literature. In addition to my academic duties, I have led over 100 students to about 30 countries in the last four years. My personal backpacking travels have included over 75 countries on six continents.
In 2010, I planned and led the first ATW Semester with Dr. John Norton, and am excited about going the other way around the way this time with Dr. Tim Preuss and his family.
For nine years after graduate school, I lived in Asia where I trained teachers and taught university English in South Korea, China and Mongolia. I am a founding board member of Fikisha, an NGO working with street boys in Kenya, and through my travels I’ve partnered with LCMS World Missions, YWAM, Operational Mobilization and World Mission Prayer League.
