Krueger Embarks on an Asian Adventure

President Krueger, accompanied by former Provost Dr. Shang Ik Moon, traveled to Japan, Korea, and China from Oct. 16-Nov. 4. The main purpose of the trip was to visit colleges and high schools with which Concordia has agreements in order to renew or initiate exchange contracts with these institutions. The president also wanted to provide support and encouragement for our sister Lutheran schools in locations where spreading the Gospel is often difficult and discouraging.
The nearly three-week trip began in Okayama, Japan. Within the first four days, President Krueger visited Notre …

A Message From President Kurt J. Krueger

Dear Friends of Concordia,

We continue to read and hear much about “globalization,” about the interconnectedness of countries, systems and markets around the world. Volleyball Has Season Unlike Any Other

The Eagles Make it to the National Championship Game
CUI volleyball has had some fantastic seasons in the past, but 2011 was different for a number of reasons. Head coach Dan Fisher entered his first season at the helm with only one of his own recruits, but the cupboard was far from bare, and with Fisher and his staff’s tutelage, the team accomplished great things.
The Lady Eagles Volleyball Team enjoyed a number of program firsts during their historic fall 2011 season. They won the Golden State Athletic Conference, posting an unblemished …

Troubled Kid Makes Good

Pastor and Kick-Boxer
Robert Sundquist escaped a hardscrabble youth and earned a degree from Concordia University, becoming senior pastor of a large Lutheran congregation.
“What I love about Concordia is their interest in being genuine and making you the best,” says Sundquist. “I bring that to my own work. Every time I talk or teach, I try to be real with folks. Whether it’s in a Bible study or at the gym, people really catch on.”
Sundquist is senior pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where he serves …
